Extreme Care - Open Water & Moving Water Safety Courses

These courses are aimed at poeple who may find themselves working near a water environment that is out of their usual scope. For example Engineers,  Rangers, Wardens, Park workers, Ambulance, Fire or Police personnel, Teachers and Lecturers as well as people with just an interest in being safe around water.

 

The only experience needed is the ability to swim 50 metres in light clothing. You will get wet on these courses.

One Day Course:

• What are the hazards of open water?
  • Sea,
  • Lakes,
  • Reservoirs,
  • Quarries,
  • Canals.
• Evaluation of area and self.
• The Rules of Water Safety.
• What can we do to help?
• Personal safety and self rescue.
• Victim Rescue,
• Equipment and Improvisation.
• Medical considerations.
• Further training.
• Exercises in the Water!

All participants must be 16 years old or above.

• Exercises in the Water!

Combined course:

Both courses can be combined into a two day course covering both open and moving water environments.

All our trainers are Rescue 3 Swiftwater Rescue Technicians and highly experienced international kayakers.
