Extreme Care - Feedback and Comments from previous clients

Events Extreme Care have been/are involved with:

"The fact that the course was mainly practical was EXCELLENT, it helps the person to learn a lot quicker and more effectively. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and will be back in three years."

Tanya Kingston Freake
Basingstoke Battle re-enactment society.

"A very well structured course with ample opportunity to practice the skills learnt. A friendly and approachable instructor with a wealth of knowledge who explains the course to the desired level."

Rebecca Woodhall
Specialist teacher and canoeist.

"An excellent course. Fantastic to do one with such relevance to the outdoor/river environment. Great fun!"

Matthew Corke.
Captain of University of Durham canoe Club

"Best first aid course I’ve ever been on - the scenarios were excellent and made the theory very realistic."

Katie Jane Ellis.
University of Durham Canoe Club.

"Thank you for the recent first aid and white water safety courses. I found the whole week fun, enjoyable and most important of all, I gained vital skills and information for my chosen sport and life in general. Loved the teaching/coaching techniques, and I will not hesitate to recommend you and your company to other people and organisations."

Stephen Ball
Burton Canoe Club.

"The practical scenarios were a great way to reinforce everything we learnt, making it so much easier to put first aid to use for real, rather than just in a classroom. The outside practicals also made the course much more relevant than any previous course I've been on to my working and playing in the outdoors as a canoeist."

R.E. Holdway (Stoke-on-Trent)
BCU Community Sports Coach.

"I took the two day course due to both my work and leisure interests. I undertake a variety of outdoor activities including sailing, canoeing and work in archaeology. These activities often take place in remote locations where mobile communications and response times by the emergency services may be limited.

This was just the course for me, and much more use than some of the First Aid at work courses I have taken in the past.

The emphasis on group work and role play teaching is excellent. So good that on return we booked Dave to run a further two day course for staff and post-graduates from my University department."

R.C.Janaway (Bradford)
Dept. of Archaeological Sciences, University of Bradford.

"Truly realistic scenarios, building nervousness and tension, this caused good and bad decisions to be made under stress - all covered by positive feedback at the end of the scenario.

The scenarios were totally realistic - I was so focused on the task at hand that I was barely aware of what was going on around me.

Very friendly instructor style, easily approachable, just what we needed."

J. Cussans.
Archaeologist University of Bradford.

"This course was excellent for me - it gave confidence practical repetition and a very useful handbook! The style of delivery was lively and well suited to the group."

C.Knusel.
Senior Lecturer in Biological Anthropology, University of Bradford.

Email from a course candidate the day after his course:

Hi David.

You might remember that in my introduction I said that I had never had to do any First Aid in the three years since my first First Aid Course.

On Sunday that all changed, We were doing the Lune, and a friend dislocated his shoulder. I used the spraydeck sling method you showed us, and we got him up to a house where we rang for an ambulance. We continued down the river to the car, and by the time we got to the hospital, he had been discharged, and was considerably more comfortable.

Dave Bradshaw
Manchester Canoe Club

The course was fantastic - well presented, with good backup on live scenarios and thourough explanationand discussion.

Adventure Racer

I felt that the instructor was very proffesional but also fun to work with. He gave excellent and positive feedback as well as using practice to encourage us. I felt I could ask any questions and we practiced alot as well as receiving information.

A fantastic course very well planned and delivered. Highly recommended for anyone running outdoor activities.

This course was the best example of theory put into practice. Even with a real emergency, we recovered and finished just like in the real world.

Holborn Scout Leaders.
